Softball Game Preview: Blanco Panthers vs. Llano Yellowjackets

For the second straight game, Blanco will face off against Llano. Blanco will be playing in front of their home fans against Llano at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Blanco is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 13 games.

Blanco hadn't beaten Llano on the road since March 29, 2021 but that history sure didn't bother them on Monday. Blanco blew past Llano 20-9. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won eight games by eight runs or more so far this season.

For Llano's part, Savannah Gibson and Morgan Williamson did some serious damage despite the final result: Gibson went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI, while Williamson scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most hits Gibson has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Emilie Clopton, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Blanco's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.2 runs over those games. As for Llano, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 13 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.
