Northview hasn't had much luck against Jay recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Chiefs will face off against the Royals at 7:00 p.m. Northview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Northview is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top against Paxton by a score of 8-3. The victory continues a trend for the Chiefs in their matchups with the Bobcats: they've now won four in a row.

Jamison Gilman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mikayla McAnally, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. Kylee Langham was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Northview hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Jay made sure to put some runs up on the board against Baker on Tuesday. The Royals blew past the Gators 16-1. Considering the Royals have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Ella Samford looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Kaylee Gilbreath and Kiley Samford did most of the damage at the plate: Gilbreath went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base, while Kiley went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Samford has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Presley Hawthorne, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.
Northview's record is now 18-6. As for Jay, their record now sits at 20-2.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Northview hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .349. However, it's not like Jay struggles in that department as they've averaged .332. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Northview couldn't quite finish off Jay when the teams last played back in April and fell 5-3. Can the Chiefs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
