Baseball Recap: Aitkin Takes a Loss

Aitkin lost against Moose Lake/Willow River back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Gobblers fell just short of the Rebels by a score of 4-3. The Gobblers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jake McGuire was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run. Another player making a difference was John Pelarski, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Aitkin's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Moose Lake/Willow River, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-4.

Looking ahead, Aitkin will be playing in front of their home fans against Ogilvie at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Moose Lake/Willow River, they are taking a road trip to face off against Barnum at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
