Baseball Recap: Metro Panthers vs. Whitfield Warriors
Metro lost against Whitfield back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Metro Panthers wound up on the wrong side of a tough 16-1 walloping at the hands of the Whitfield Warriors. Metro has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Metro saw one different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Buchanan, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
On Whitfield's side, Mark Portis was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Cody Baden, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Metro's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Whitfield, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-5.
Metro is on the road again on Tuesday to play Gateway Science Academy at 4:30 p.m. As for Whitfield, they will be playing at home against Duchesne at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
