Basketball Recap: Hoxie Comes Up Short

Hoxie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They were beaten by the Harrisburg Hornets 64-7. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 74-17 two weeks ago.

Harrisburg had a senior duo take command as Elisabeth Green went 12 for 16 en route to 26 points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks and Alesia Rand almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine boards. With that strong performance, Green is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Ragan Fahr was another key player, putting up seven points and five steals.

Hoxie's defeat dropped their record down to 2-22. As for Harrisburg, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 16-8.

Coming up, Hoxie will head out to face off against Piggott at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Harrisburg, they will welcome Midland at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Harrisburg is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.2 points per game this season.
