The Mustangs narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Lions 8-7. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-2 on Tuesday.

Salina Central pushed their record up to 7-5 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.13 runs across that stretch. As for Goddard, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
