Softball Preview: Trinity Christian Crusaders vs. Twiggs Academy Trojans
Trinity Christian has gone 3-0 against Twiggs Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Trinity Christian Crusaders will welcome the Twiggs Academy Trojans at 4:30 p.m. Trinity Christian will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Trinity Christian finally turned things around against Citizens Christian Academy on Thursday. They came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 13-9.
Trinity Christian got a massive performance out of Madison Lowery, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, a triple, and an RBI. That triple marked the first that Lowery's hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mollie Hodges, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Trinity Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in August of 2023.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Twiggs Academy). They put the hurt on First Preparatory Christian Academy with a sharp 20-12 victory on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Trojans needed considering they were shutout in their previous game.
Trinity Christian's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Twiggs Academy, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.
Trinity Christian took their win against Twiggs Academy in their previous meeting back in September of 2021 by a conclusive 17-0. Will Trinity Christian repeat their success, or does Twiggs Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
