Softball Recap: Geneva Wins Going Away Against Elba

While Geneva didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on the Elba Tigers with a sharp 18-1 victory on Tuesday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

Geneva is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Elba, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Looking ahead, Geneva is taking a road trip to take on Daleville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Elba, they will be playing at home against Goshen at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.33 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
