Softball Recap: South's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

South dropped their record down to 19-9 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins. They lost 16-1 to the Tehachapi Warriors. The Spartans were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the five matchups prior), but the Warriors' pitchers proved too tough.

South saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Payton Eades, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

As for Tehachapi, their record now sits at 14-11. The win continues a trend for them in their matchups with South: they've now won four in a row.

On Tehachapi's side, Kayden Grigsby was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and three RBI. Those three doubles gave Grigsby a new career-high. Emily Perkins was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and four runs.

While South had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
