Preview: Plainedge Red Devils vs. Lynbrook Owls
Plainedge is 7-0 against Lynbrook since September of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Plainedge Red Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Lynbrook Owls at 2:00 p.m. Hopefully Plainedge is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lynbrook in New York (Plainedge is ranked 64th, while Lynbrook is ranked 229th).
Last Friday, Plainedge didn't have too much breathing room in their match against South Side, but they still walked away with a 21-16 victory.
Plainedge found their leader in underclassman Dylan Fella, who rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. Jack Rizzo made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Meanwhile, Lynbrook got themselves on the board against Division on Saturday, but Division never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 43-0 win over the Blue Dragons at home. The result was nothing new for Lynbrook, who have now won four matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.
Plainedge is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Lynbrook, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Everything came up roses for Plainedge against Lynbrook in their previous matchup back in March of 2021 as the squad secured a 49-7 victory. Will Plainedge repeat their success, or does Lynbrook have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
