Soccer Recap: Amherst County Takes a Loss

Amherst County came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 8-0 to the Liberty Christian Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, Amherst County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 138th, while Liberty Christian are ranked 22nd).

Amherst County's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-6. As for Liberty Christian, their win bumped their record up to 8-0-1.

Looking ahead, Amherst County will be playing in front of their home fans against Glass at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Liberty Christian, they are taking a road trip to square off against Heritage at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Liberty Christian will be up against Heritage's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.82 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
