Volleyball Recap: St. John's Pioneers vs. Barnstable Red Hawks
The St. John's Pioneers came up short against the Barnstable Red Hawks on Tuesday and fell 3-1.
While St. John's ultimately came up short, they really made Barnstable work, particularly in the first set. The final score came out to 28-26, 25-18, 16-25, 25-23.
Francis McGonagle paced St. John's offense, picking up 25 kills. McGonagle got some help from Anirudh Vasudevan and his 35 assists.
St. John's has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season. As for Barnstable, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 17-5.
