Softball Preview: St. Petersburg Green Devils vs. Osceola Warriors        
        
		
            St. Petersburg hasn't had much luck against Osceola recently, but that could start to change  on Friday. The St. Petersburg Green Devils will look to defend their home field  against the Osceola Warriors  at 4:00  p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one:  the two teams posted some lofty  run totals in their previous games.
After dropping their season opener at home, Osceola is headed out to face a Green Devils  team ready to give their home crowd a win. St. Petersburg fell just short of Hollins by a score of  11-10 on Thursday.
 Anne Clare Penney spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned  (and seven unearned) runs on three hits.
 At the plate,  Novalee Rollins and  Taylor Page did some serious damage despite the final result:  Rollins  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-5, while  Page  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Jayden Grimes, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-4.
 Even though they lost, St. Petersburg  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 11  hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hollins onlymanaged three  hits.
Meanwhile, Osceola got the win against Pinellas Park  on Thursday by a conclusive  16-1. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Warriors.
 Theresa Diez made a splash no matter where she played. She  tossed three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Diez was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with one  home run and two  runs.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Jenna Neupaver, who  scored three  runs while going 3-for-5. That's the most  runs  she has posted since back in April of 2024.  Gigi Dorwin was another key player,  going a perfect 1-for-1 with one  home run, three  runs,  and two  RBI.
