Edcouch-Elsa (Edcouch, Texas) put up 13 points in the fourth quarter in Saturday's game to seal their 34-7 victory over
Mission (Texas).
After taking the lead on an
Israel Loredo touchdown run in the first quarter, the Yellowjackets were up 21-7 at the half.
Mission's lone touchdown came on a 34-yard pass from
Jerry Barrera to
Matt Sital in the second quarter.
The victory was a completely different match up compared to last season's game between these two teams, which the Eagles took, 41-20.
The loss comes after Mission defeated Valley View 49-0 last week.
In a 4A Region IV District 32 game next week Edcouch-Elsa (4-1) takes on Veterans Memorial, and Mission (2-2) will go up against Roma also in a 4A Region IV District 32 game.
