LaPoynor blew Oakwood out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Oakwood got their revenge. The LaPoynor Flyers fell just short of the Oakwood Panthers by a score of 6-4. The Flyers' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Colt Rogers and Tripp Moeller did some serious damage despite the final result: Rogers scored a run and stole Four bases. while going 2-for-3, while Moeller scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Rogers has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last nine times he's played. Kaden McKinley also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

LaPoynor's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Oakwood, they now have a winning record of 4-3-2.

Coming up, LaPoynor will take on Chapel Hill in a tournament on Thursday. LaPoynor is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season. As for Oakwood, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Mount Calm at 4:30 p.m. The last three games Oakwood has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
