Basketball Recap: Rural Special Comes Up Short

After flying high against Norfork last Tuesday, Rural Special came back down to earth. The Rural Special Rebels were beaten by the West Side Eagles 81-52 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Rebels have suffered since November 9, 2023.

The loss snapped Rural Special's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 24-5 record. As for West Side, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 27-3.

Rural Special and West Side should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Arkansas Rankings. Rural Special (ranked 54th) will meet Calico Rock (ranked 206th) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, West Side will face off against Timbo at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 221 places (13 vs. 234).
