Preview: St. Pius X vs. Kelly
The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. On Friday St. Pius X will take on Kelly at 7:00 PM. St. Pius X strut in flaunting some offensive muscle with an average of 31.6 points per game.
St. Pius X came into their this week averaging 35.11 points per game, but St. Pius X fell well short of that average, and it cost them. They found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 0-34 punch to the gut against Valle Catholic last Friday. That makes it the first time this season St. Pius X have let down their home crowd.
Meanwhile, Kelly put the finishing touches on their 5th blowout victory of the season. They put a hurting on Chaffee to the tune of 41-0. The rankings were on Kelly's side, but they didn't forecast quite such a lopsided result.
Kelly's win lifted them to 6-3 while St. Pius X's defeat dropped them down to 7-3. We'll see if Kelly's success rolls on or if St. Pius X are able to steal their positive momentum.
