Game recap: Pace High School Football Team takes down Pensacola Catholic

PACE, Fla. - Pace (Fla.) saw its 9-point lead dwindle to one, but still managed to hang on and beat Pensacola Catholic (Pensacola, Fla.) 16-15 on Saturday.

The Patriots were up 9-0 at the half after taking the lead on a Brice Moore touchdown pass to Shayne Crawford in the first quarter.

Pace saw its 9-point halftime lead fall to two entering the fourth.

PHS got two points from its defense on the way to victory.



Crawford was the top performer for the Patriots. The junior tight end caught one touchdown.

Chance Donaldson played well for the Crusaders. He caught one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to two on the year.

Pace had given up an average of 16.3 points prior to the contest. Pensacola Catholic's 15 points were below its season average of 18.9 per game.

A 28-21 Pace victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.

The victory was a step in the right direction for the Patriots, which was coming off a 28-20 defeat at the hands of Milton in its previous game.

Next week, PC (6-3) will take on Washington in a non-conference game. The Wildcats enter the tilt sporting a 1-7 record for the season.
