After a string of four wins, Belt's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 3-1 to the Manhattan Christian Eagles. The Huskies were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.
Belt started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 15-25, 25-22, 25-13, 25-22.
Several Huskies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Destinee Goodman, who had 18 digs and two aces. Goodman has been hot recently, having posted 14 or more digs the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Gama, who had eight digs.
Belt's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Manhattan Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Belt will head out to take on Highwood at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Manhattan Christian, they will venture away from home to face off against Twin Bridges at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
