Basketball Recap: Grant Park Dragons vs. Donovan Wildcats
The Grant Park Dragons can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top against Donovan by a score of 49-41. The victory was just what Grant Park needed coming off of a 66-44 defeat in their prior game.
It was another big night for Blake Brown, who scored 30 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Luis Maldonado, who scored nine points.
When it comes to explaining why Donovan lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brendan Henneike. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds. Braden Klecan was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Even though they lost, Donovan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grant Park only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.
Grant Park's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-15. As for Donovan, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-14.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grant Park won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on February 3rd. As for Donovan, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
