Volleyball Recap: Washington Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Point, Washington was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Fort Zumwalt South Bulldogs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

While Washington might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Fort Zumwalt South scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-19, 22-25, 25-21.

Among those leading the charge was Kendal Gilmor, who had 13 digs. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September. Sophia Bishop also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Washington was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. They served two more aces than Fort Zumwalt South's also-impressive total of ten.

Washington's record now sits at 18-10-1. As for Fort Zumwalt South, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14-2.

Coming up, Washington will face off against Sullivan at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Bluejays surely won't give up without a fight. As for Fort Zumwalt South, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 1-1 draw against Troy-Buchanan on the 11th.
