Basketball Recap: Casey Thomann and Arjay Keller Secure Win for Richland County

Richland County won the last time they faced Mattoon and things went their way on Saturday too. The Richland County Tigers came out on top against the Mattoon Greenwave by a score of 56-47.

Richland County was led to victory by Arjay Keller and Casey Thomann. Keller went 10 of 16 on his way to 25 points and five rebounds, while Thomann dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Keller has scored at least a third of Richland County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reid Brown, who posted four points.

The victory got Richland County back to even at 4-4. As for Mattoon, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Richland County Tigers face off against the Salem Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Richland County is facing Salem at the right time seeing as Salem is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Mattoon, they will head out to face off against Marion at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Marion will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Mattoon surely won't give up without a fight.
