Game recap: Norwood High School Football Team tops Dove Creek

Seven missed two-point conversions cost Dove Creek (Colo.) as it fell 47-42 to Norwood (Colo.).

After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Brad Campbell in the first quarter, the Mavericks led 26-18 at the half.

Norwood expanded its lead to nine points entering the fourth quarter. NHS scored three times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Morgan Rummel.

The Mavericks led by as many as 26 points before the Bulldogs cut into the final margin.

Rummel stood out for Norwood in the win. The junior quarterback threw two touchdowns and ran for three touchdowns.

Dalton Randolph made a difference for Dove Creek. The senior quarterback threw three touchdowns and ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored 17 touchdowns on the season.



DC came in surrendering 14.7 points per game this season. The Bulldogs struggled against NHS's offense, which entered the game scoring 15.2 points per game.

When the two teams played each other last season, the Mavericks came away with a 47-14 victory.

The loss comes after Dove Creek defeated Nucla 65-0 last week. The loss snapped Dove Creek's 3-game winning streak. With the win Norwood extended its winning streak to four games.
