Basketball Recap: Waltrip Rams vs. Madison Marlins
It was a good run, but the Waltrip Rams unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a hard 87-69 fall against Madison. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (68), Waltrip still had to take the loss.
Nicolas Golden was a one-man wrecking crew for Madison as he dropped a double-double on 28 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Golden has scored all season. Anthony Avalos was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Waltrip's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Madison, they pushed their record up to 20-7 with that win, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Waltrip will challenge the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Sterling's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Madison, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Northside will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1226th, while the Marlins are ranked 328th).
