Basketball Recap: John Carroll Catholic Triumphs

Melbourne Central Catholic came into Tuesday's match looking for another win against John Carroll Catholic, but Olivia Laughlin wouldn't allow it. The John Carroll Catholic Rams claimed a resounding 55-14 win over the Melbourne Central Catholic Hustlers thanks in part to Laughlin, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 13 points in addition to six boards and five steals. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.3 steals per game.

The team also got some help courtesy of Madi Burrowes, who posted four points along with six assists and three steals. Burrowes is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season.

John Carroll Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Melbourne Central Catholic, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
