Basketball Recap: Drayton/Valley-Edinburg Comes Up Short

After flying high against Griggs County Central/Midkota last Saturday, Drayton/Valley-Edinburg came back down to earth. The Drayton/Valley-Edinburg Titans fell just short of the North Border co-op [Walhalla/Pembina] Eagles by a score of 59-57 on Monday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (56), the Titans still had to take the loss.

Drayton/Valley-Edinburg has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for North Border co-op [Walhalla/Pembina], the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 15-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Drayton/Valley-Edinburg will take on Hatton/Northwood at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Border co-op [Walhalla/Pembina], they are taking a road trip to challenge Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in North Border co-op [Walhalla/Pembina]'s favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.
