Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Southern Choctaw). Everything went their way against the Millry Wildcats on Thursday as the Southern Choctaw Indians made off with a 30-8 win. Considering the Indians have won four matches by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Southern Choctaw got a massive performance out of Remmi McMichael, who got on base in all six of her plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run was McMichael's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Keri McGee, who went 2-for-6 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.
Southern Choctaw always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .604. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Millry only posted an OBP of .250.
Southern Choctaw has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4-1 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 15.3 runs. Millry's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-2-1.
Looking ahead, Southern Choctaw will host Leroy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Millry, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Millry Wildcats take on Thomasville Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
