Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lakin). They blew past the Elkhart Wildcats 16-1 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Broncs in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won seven in a row.

Moriah Ortiz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). That hit was her first of the season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Paityn Ansel was a standout: she scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Lileah Villa, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, one triple, and one run.

Lakin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-7. As for Elkhart, they dropped their record down to 2-6-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lakin beat the Wildcats by a score of 16-1 later that day.
