Preview: Fayetteville Bulldogs vs. Bentonville Tigers
The Fayetteville Bulldogs are on the road again on Saturday and play against the Bentonville Tigers. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Fayetteville had no problem doing just that on Friday. They had just enough and edged the Wampus Cats out 24-21.
Christian Setzer continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 120 yards and two touchdowns. Setzer hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for five straight games.
Meanwhile, Bentonville faced Bryant in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Bentonville strolled past Bryant with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 52-35. The victory was nothing new for Bentonville as they're now sitting on five straight.
Fayetteville's win bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Bentonville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
Everything went Fayetteville's way against Bentonville when the teams last played back in October as Fayetteville made off with a 42-21 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fayetteville since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
