The Davenport Broncos will venture away from home to face off against the Auburndale Bloodhounds at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Davenport is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
If Davenport beats Auburndale with 13 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. The Broncos blew past Oak Ridge 13-2 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Broncos.

Jorge Covas made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Davenport is 3-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-14 otherwise. Covas was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Luis Escalera, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Zion Jefferson, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.
Davenport always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. They are 4-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Auburndale ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Discovery 6-5. The win was some much needed relief for the Bloodhounds as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Eric Tucker looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Hayden Sosa-Morris was incredible, scoring a run while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Pitard, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.
Davenport's record is now 7-15. As for Auburndale, their record now sits at 6-16.
Davenport skirted past Auburndale 7-6 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the Broncos have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bloodhounds turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
