Basketball Game Preview: Walla Walla Blue Devils vs. Kennewick Lions

The Walla Walla Blue Devils and the Kennewick Lions will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.

Walla Walla easily dispatched Wenatchee on Saturday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Walla Walla fell just short of Kamiakin by a score of 55-52 on Friday. The Blue Devils haven't had much luck with the Braves recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kennewick). They breezed by Hanford to the tune of 88-52 on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Lions as they're now sitting on five straight.

Kennewick's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points per game. As for Walla Walla, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Walla Walla beat Kennewick 66-58 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Will Walla Walla repeat their success, or does Kennewick have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
