Excelsior Classical Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 48-11 loss at the hands of the Raleigh Charter Phoenix. The Flying Lions lost against the Phoenix in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 67-4 score last time.

Despite the defeat, Excelsior Classical Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Arihanna Williams earned six points.

Excelsior Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Raleigh Charter, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Excelsior Classical Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Hawbridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Raleigh Charter, they will face off against Franklin Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
