Softball Recap: Travelers Rest Takes a Loss

If Travelers Rest was feeling good fresh off their 9-2 takedown of Berea on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Devildogs lost 14-5 to the Landrum Cardinals on Wednesday. The Devildogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Travelers Rest has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for Landrum, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-9.

Coming up, Travelers Rest will welcome Pickens at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Flame will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Devildogs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Landrum, they are taking a road trip to square off against High Point Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
