Basketball Recap: Northview Titans vs. Centennial Knights

Make it 14 blowout wins for the Northview Titans this season. They claimed a resounding 53-25 win over Centennial on the road. Given Northview's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Knights are ranked 367th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Milan Johnson, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds and three steals. Johnson hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Kelly Reynolds was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.

Despite the loss, Centennial still got an impressive performance from Jasmine Perez, who scored 14 points along with three steals. Perez is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Diamond Leslie, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and three blocks.

Centennial struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Northview racked up 12 assists.

Northview has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Centennial, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northview is on the road again on Friday and plays the Longhorns at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. As for Centennial, they will take on the Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. North Springs is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
