Baseball Recap: Box Elder Takes a Loss

Box Elder lost to Woods Cross on Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Bees took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 23, 2025, but that streak is no more.

Box Elder handed starting duties to Bosten Steacie, who gave a strong showing despite the result: he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Steacie has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Box Elder saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryson Wight, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Box Elder's loss dropped their record down to 10-17. As for Woods Cross, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season.

Box Elder does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Woods Cross, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-2 defeat against Pleasant Grove on the 13th.
