Baseball Recap: Scott Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Scott waltzed into their contest on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Roane County Raiders with a sharp 14-8 win. Considering the Skyhawks have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Ryan Neal made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Neal was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kedron Elkins, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Louden White, who went 2-for-6 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Scott always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .515 or higher in three consecutive games.

Scott's victory bumped their record up to 18-8. As for Roane County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season.

Scott will take on Independence at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Skyhawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season. As for Roane County, they will square off against South Harrison at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
