Monument Valley will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Rock Point, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. Monument Valley sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Rock Point on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Monument Valley has posted since September 27, 2024.
Monument Valley wouldn't go down easily and took Rock Point into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-18, 17-25, 22-25, 15-13.
Meanwhile, Monticello entered their tilt with Rock Point on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Cougars 3-0.
While Monticello won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-14, 26-24.
Monument Valley better focus on containing Annaleigh Nebeker and Madie Adair as the pair were huge in Monticello's win. Nebeker had five digs and three aces, while Adair had eight digs. That's the most digs Adair has posted over her last two matches.
Monument Valley's victory bumped their record up to 13-7-1. As for Monticello, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.
