Baseball Recap: Santa Fe Drops Season-High Score on California

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Santa Fe). Everything went their way against the California Condors on Friday as they made off with a 12-2 win. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Chiefs with their most commanding win of the season.

Devin Mota looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, James Oregon was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nicolas Alvarez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Santa Fe's record now sits at 7-12. As for California, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-5.

Coming up, Santa Fe will venture away from home to square off against Lakewood at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lancers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Chiefs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for California, they will welcome El Rancho at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
