Baseball Recap: Bluffton's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

After a string of four wins, Bluffton's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They came up short against the Miller City Wildcats, falling 24-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pirates of the 7-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

Bluffton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Speicher, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

The loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 6-5. As for Miller City, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bluffton will take on Allen East at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Miller City, they will square off against Antwerp at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Archers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.29 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
