Recap: Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs vs. Indio Rajahs
The Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs entered their tilt with the Indio Rajahs with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Coachella Valley came out on top against Indio by a score of 31-21 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Coachella Valley also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
Coachella Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Miguel Rodriguez, who picked up 173 receiving yards and a touchdown. Rodriguez is on a roll when it comes to receiving yards, as he's now posted 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Derek Calderon also helped out by tossing the rock for 311 yards.
Despite the defeat, Indio had strong showings from Abraham Acuna, who gained 115 total yards and a touchdown, and Elijah Gutierrez, who threw for 218 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 passes. Acuna was no stranger to the big play, connecting with a big catch that went for 60 yards.
Coachella Valley's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Indio, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
Coachella Valley will look to defend their home field on Friday against South El Monte at 7:00 p.m. South El Monte is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. Indio does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
