Baseball Game Preview: Rittman Indians vs. Crestline Bulldogs

Rittman is a perfect 3-0 against Crestline since May of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Indians will host the Bulldogs at 11:00 a.m. Neither Rittman nor Crestline posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Rittman blew Smithville out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Smithville got their revenge. The Indians fell just short of the Smithies by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Indians have suffered since March 27, 2024.

Brayden Louk was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Meanwhile, Crestline was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Lucas, falling 12-0.

Crestline saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Finn Belcick, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Crestline's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Rittman, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Rittman has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Crestline struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Rittman took their victory against Crestline in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 14-1 score. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
