Softball Recap: Webster/Siren Comes Up Short

Webster/Siren had lost six straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 2-12 to make it seven. They lost 18-2 to the Barron Golden Bears. The Tigers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Golden Bears from their previous meeting back in May of 2023.

As for Barron, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-14. That 16-run margin sets a new team best for them this season.

For Barron's part, Ariella McDonald made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. McDonald was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, Barron let Madalyn Kallsen and Nola Kraczek run wild. Kallsen got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Kraczek got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs Kraczek has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Reese Duncan, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Webster/Siren has already played their next contest (against Drummond), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Barron, they have also already played their next matchup, a 12-11 win against Ashland on the 19th.
