Baseball Recap: St. James Academy's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

St. James Academy's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They never let the Christ Prep Academy Patriots get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Thunder as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak.

The result came thanks to Cory Kirchner's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Andy Devers, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. Another player making a difference was Lucas Boschert, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: St. James Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since the start of last season.

St. James Academy's record is now 6-11. As for Christ Prep Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. James Academy will host Heritage Christian Academy on Saturday. As for Christ Prep Academy, they will welcome Plaza Heights Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
