Softball Recap: Del Sol Wins Going Away Against Democracy Prep Agassi Campus

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Virgin Valley, Del Sol was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 17-4 margin over the Democracy Prep Agassi Campus Blue Knights. Considering the Dragons have won 11 games by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Sunshine Rivera made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Scarlet St. Clair, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Breanna Figueroa, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Del Sol's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-8. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Democracy Prep Agassi Campus, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-15.

As of now, neither Del Sol nor the Blue Knights have any future games scheduled.
