Basketball Recap: Charlotte Christian Takes a Loss

Charlotte Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a blow against the Charlotte Country Day School Buccaneers, falling 66-23. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-13.

Charlotte Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ella Manry, who posted 13 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Egypt Maxwell-Wright, who had six points.

Charlotte Country Day School's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Olive Bigham, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. Bigham is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Sam Vanderhave was another key player, putting up 20 points and four steals.

Charlotte Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Charlotte Country Day School, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-6.

Charlotte Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 52-5 loss against Providence Day on the 17th. Charlotte Country Day School has also already played their next contest, a 49-46 win against Charlotte Latin on the 17th.
