Baseball Recap: Fillmore Comes Up Short

Campbell-Savona hit Fillmore with a five-run second inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 7-6. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Damon Potter was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for Fillmore: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Jared Boon was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Fillmore's record is now 9-8. As for Campbell-Savona, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7.

Looking ahead, Fillmore will square off against Hinsdale Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Campbell-Savona, they will host Canisteo-Greenwood at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.
