Volleyball Recap: South Gray Extends Winning Streak to Four

South Gray had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They came out on top against the Ellis Railroaders by a score of 2-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Rebels also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

South Gray not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Ellis between 19 and 20 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-20.

Leading South Gray to victory were Keagan Mel Eesa Showalter and Kady Foskuhl. Mel Eesa Showalter had seven digs and two aces, while Foskuhl had four digs and two aces. That's the most aces Foskuhl has posted over her last nine matchups.

They weren't the only good servers: South Gray was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in three consecutive matches.

When it comes to explaining why Ellis lost, don't look at Taylor Kohl. Despite the final result, she had eight digs and five assists.

South Gray's record now sits at 17-2. As for Ellis, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

South Gray has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against LaCrosse on the 27th. As for Ellis, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Smith Center on the 30th.
