Soccer Recap: Riverside Comes Up Short

Riverside lost against Independence back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Ram came up short against Independence, falling 6-1. While losing is never fun, Riverside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 84th, while Independence are ranked seventh).

This is the second loss in a row for Riverside and nudges their season record down to 5-3-2. As for Independence, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 10-0.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Riverside is set to take on their familiar foe Stone Bridge at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Independence will square off against rival Briar Woods at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
