Basketball Game Preview: West Union Eagles vs. New Albany Bulldogs

The West Union Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the New Albany Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

West Union saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They fell 48-44 to Lewisburg. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While New Albany didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They took down Alcorn Central 50-31 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

West Union better keep an eye on Lynleigh Tatum. She was instrumental in New Albany's win, dropping a double-double with 24 points and 11 steals. Tatum has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madilyn Gafford, who posted six points.

New Albany's record is now 6-2. As for West Union, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Things could have been worse for West Union, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 48-29 loss to New Albany in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
