Baseball Recap: Haxtun Beats Sedgwick County for Their Fourth Straight Win

Haxtun won the last time they faced Sedgwick County and things went their way on Monday too. The Fightin' Bulldogs put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 17-4 win. Considering the Fightin' Bulldogs have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Madden Larsen and Ryland Wolff did most of the damage at the plate: Larsen went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Wolff went 2-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs Wolff has posted since back in March of 2024. Braden Plumb also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The victory (which was Haxtun's fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Sedgwick County, they dropped their record down to 4-9 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Haxtun has already played their next game, a 5-4 victory against Akron on the 17th. As for Sedgwick County, they will welcome Peetz at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Cougars are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
